Senior Citizen's Home

Life expectancy is steadily increasing, but cities are no longer safe nor friendly neighbors a certainty. Alternative housing for the aged is a practical lifestyle solution that developers are now ready to provide.

The fading joint family system in India and other innumerable factors have given rise to west-inspired phenomena of old age homes. Surprising cost of living and scanty return on savings have almost pushed these senior citizens on roads. Such an act has triggered the security net of the helpless, which has almost vanished in many states in India with Kerala topping the list.

Elders have started walking out of their own home in search of a journey that promises peace, joy and celebration of life with a group of people who share the same boat of life (the wrecked one). However not may rather none of them receive it. A growing number of financially independent senior citizens now prefer to stay in retirement resorts instead of languishing in the quintessential old-age homes that they feel are “overcrowded” and “unsafe”.

Skill Development Training to Youth

Skill Development and Entrepreneurship development efforts across the country have been highly fragmented so far. Though India enjoys the demographic advantage of having the youngest workforce with an average age of 29 years in comparison with the advanced economies, as opposed to the developed countries, where the percentage of skilled workforce is between 60% and 90% of the total workforce, India records a low 5% of workforce (20-24 years) with formal employability skills. With the present education and skill levels of those already in the labour force being very low, it would be a major challenge for India to reap its demographic advantage. This challenge becomes enormous as the recent studies indicate that employers found just about 25% of Indian graduates are ‘employable’ in the organized sector. The informal sector which comprises 93% of the workforce has no skilling mechanism, as the skill development takes place on the job. So, there is a need for quick reorganization of the skill development ecosystem and the promotion of which is necessary to suit to the needs of the industry to ensure enhancement of life of the population. India would surely rise to be the Human Resource Capital of the world by appropriately skilling its youth bulge and convert its advantage into a dividend.

Special Awareness Program for Covid 19

Will antiretroviral treatment (ART) for HIV stop me getting COVID-19? FACT: There is no evidence that taking anti-HIV drugs will stop you getting COVID-19. Although some ART drugs are being trialled for use to treat COVID-19, there is no evidence yet that they are effective for this purpose. If you are living with HIV and taking treatment it’s important that you follow the general advice to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Keep taking your treatment to ensure your immune system stays strong. You shouldn’t share your HIV drugs with anyone else who has COVID-19 or is worried about getting it. These should only be taken if prescribed by a doctor. Can COVID-19 spread in warm sunny weather? FACT: COVID-19 can survive temperatures higher than 25C. You can catch it no matter how sunny and warm it is. So, whatever the weather you should follow the official advice to protect yourself from the virus. Getting out into the sunshine, if you can, is still a good idea as this helps your body produce vitamin D which is important for your immune system. Will drinking lots of hot drinks stop COVID-19? FACT: There is no drink hot or cold that will protect you from COVID-19 or cure the illness. So far, there’s no proven cure for COVID-19 but most people recover by themselves. Taking paracetamol, drinking lots of liquids, and getting enough rest ..

Awareness Prevention on STD, HIV & AIDS

Reducing your sexual risk is one way to prevent the transmission of HIV. You can reduce your risk by: Practicing abstinence. If you have no sexual contact with another individual, you are 100 percent protected from contracting HIV through anal, oral, or vaginal sex—which are the main ways that HIV is transmitted. Practicing safer sex. Safer sex is being informed on sexual health and healthy relationships. It also includes talking to your partner about your interest, boundaries, and HIV status. Safer sex means you are taking extra precautions to protect yourself and your partner from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, and unplanned pregnancy. To reduce your risk of contracting HIV or other STIs, you should use a barrier method (i.e., male/female condom or dental dam) every time you engage in anal, oral, or vaginal sex. Latex condoms are very effective against HIV. Lambskin condoms will not protect you from HIV, because the virus is small enough to slip through the lambskin. You should always use a water-based lubricant when you use a condom for anal or vaginal sex to help keep the condom from breaking. Getting tested . You should know your status—both for your health and the health of your partner. It is also imperative that you know your partners status prior to engaging in sexual activity.
